Welcome to the Boeing Employees' Concert band
The Boeing Employees' Concert Band Mission Statement |
The Boeing Employees' Concert Band is taking a break due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Look for us in the new year, 2021.
The Boeing Employees' Concert Band starts its thirty-eighth season this fall with the first rehearsal on September 8th, 2020. (6:45PM for Dues, Stand check out and music pickup)
The Boeing Employees' Concert Band was formed in 1979, as a club in The Boeing Company Recreation Unit, through the initial efforts of Matt Thornton. The first conductor was Howard Akers, a composer/conductor and arranger who was respected as a fine musician throughout the country. He also donated a large collection of music from his library as editor of Carl Fisher Music Company.
The band plays a wide range of music from lively marches to show tunes, great classics arranged for band and holiday music appropriate to the season.
A typical concert season for the band will include concerts in parks, schools and many other events around the Puget Sound area. We are also pleased to provide live entertainment to audiences who may not have many other opportunities such as retirement centers, company events such as rollouts, anniversaries, special deliveries, go-ahead parties and others where music would be appropriate and appreciated.
As a club in the Boeing Recreation Unit, the band is open to all employees, their families and vendors. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday nights 7:00pm to 9:00pm, at the Mt. View Presbyterian Church. Please contact one of the Officers if you are interested in Joining. When we resume rehearsals, our new rehearsal site will be: Rehearsals are scheduled for: |
